This week has been an absolute doozy here in New York, with WatchTime, Windup, and so many other events happening all throughout these few days. But for those paying attention because they were looking to score the Windup NYC exclusive Fears x Studio Underd0g Manhattan at the show, I hope you have been able to get one!

If you weren't able to make it to New York, or if you missed out on that edition, fear not, as the long-teased "hair of the d0g" has been revealed as the 02Series Mim0sa. Much more in line with the original "Gimlet" offered at this year's British Watchmaker's Day, the Mim0sa is a more cheery and sweet execution when compared to the intense and rich Manhattan. Aside from the dial, the other specs are the same. A 38mm cushion case with oversized onion crown, short lugs, and a manually-wound Sellita SW210 comes with the design.

As appropriate with an orange-juice-and-bubbly inspired drink, the dial fades from a yellow to a darker orange shade, all accomplished through layers of Super-LumiNova. While the sapphire upper dial is to be expected with this design, the Mim0sa gets a bit of an extra twist through an extra milling process for the sapphire that achieves a liquid, bubbly surface effect on which the dial text is then printed. It is very subtle and only becomes quite visible in certain lighting.

As the Mim0sa is designed to be a consolation of sorts for those who couldn't get the Manhattan (or really, the gimlet too), it will be available to order for the general public in a 9-hour order window, on October 23rd between 3 pm - 12 am BST on Studio Underd0g's website. Given that production for this limited run will purely depend on the orders placed, the brand has not disclosed a general delivery time.

As I expressed in my hands-on with the Manhattan edition, these collaborations are always so fun, and I do think that the juxtaposition of the Studio Underd0g dial design works so well as a stylistic contrast between the more classic cushion shape of the Fears Brunswick case. The Mim0sa continues to be the case, and I appreciate that there is that extra little easter egg of the sapphire dial's bubbly texture. Perhaps this might put some people off this edition, but these watches are supposed to be a bit silly anyway, so it makes perfect sense.
