We're thrilled to once again partner with our friends at UBS for House of Craft. This year's edition, titled Icons of Time, opened with a fantastic first day celebrating the defining moments of watchmaking through twelve extraordinary timepieces that have shaped craft, culture, and history. Curated by Hodinkee's founder Ben Clymer, the exhibition delves into the stories behind these icons, each on display with remarkable provenance— including Wally Schirra's actual Speedmaster from the Omega Collection, and Douglas MacArthur's personal Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso. We also had a watchmaker on site, providing visitors with a rare, up-close look at the art of traditional watchmaking.
Beyond the showcase, opening day featured two engaging conversations with Ben and two Talking Watches alums. First, he sat down with the legendary Spike Lee, followed by a lively chat where SportsCenter host Gary Striewski turned the tables to interview Ben about the event itself. Together, it was a great way to set the tone for the event and provided some great context and insights into the exhibit.
UBS House of Craft NYC continues throughout the week, with the exhibition and all twelve watches still on display, and a few special guests yet to come. Until then, scroll on for a closer look at the exhibition, the people, and the watches from the first day at House of Craft.
