Moser expands its F1 connection via a pair of limited-edition models designed with the French F1 driver for the Alpine team.

What We Know

Fresh off the Driver and Mechanics Editions released earlier this year, H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine driver Pierre Gasly are back in the paddock with the Streamliner Tourbillon Pierre Gasly—two new watches designed in close collaboration with the French driver. The announcement comes just ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, where Gasly is expected to debut the watch at the track this coming weekend.

The case is classic Streamliner, but executed in 5N red gold, coming in at 40mm across and just over 12mm thick with a domed sapphire crystal. The cushion-shaped form flows seamlessly into the integrated bracelet or strap, while the sapphire caseback shows off the HMC 805 automatic tourbillon movement within. Water resistance comes in at 120 meters.

Gasly and Moser CEO Edouard Meylan stressed that the project was about substance. As Gasly puts it, "You see a lot of collaborations where it's just putting your name on a piece, but this was very different — this watch is emotional for me. It's got everything I wanted, all my inputs were respected, and it's something that will stay with me for a very long time."

Gasly wanted something elegant, versatile, and personal for the dial— "not too flashy," as he puts it. The result is a warm Chocolate fumé dial, a name he coined himself, with a sunburst gradient that shifts in the light. The transparent lacquered logo almost disappears against the surface, leaving red gold indices and hands with Globolight inserts. On the rarer of the two models, a baguette-cut ruby marks ten o'clock — a subtle nod to Gasly's racing number, which itself is a tribute to his favorite (and World Cup-winning) football player, Zinedine Zidane.

Inside is the HMC 805, Moser's automatic flying tourbillon calibre with a three-day power reserve. Its in-house double hairspring compensates for positional errors, improving accuracy, while the one-minute tourbillon at six o'clock provides a spectacle Gasly couldn't resist. "I have always been fascinated by this mechanism. There's something almost hypnotic about its constant balletic motion. Its precision and technical excellence also draw parallels with the world of F1," he explains. The movement is finished with skeletonized bridges, Moser double stripes, and a red gold rotor engraved with the brand's logo.

Two versions are available now. The first is limited to 100 pieces, priced at $98,500, and features a chocolate-colored integrated rubber strap that lends a sportier look. The second is limited to just 10 pieces, priced at $148,500, and comes with a red gold integrated bracelet.

What We Think

Let's get something out of the way first—these aren't cheap. A near six-figure price tag is a serious hurdle, and for many, simply out of scope. That said, the watch itself is beautifully executed. The Chocolate fumé dial is rich and understated, and the ruby at ten o'clock on the ultra-limited edition is a perfectly judged touch, something that feels very personal, that I really love.

Meylan and Gasly

H. Moser & Cie. CEO Edouard Meylan and Pierre Gasly.

When I met the Brothers Meylan at the Montreal Grand Prix during the launch of the Driver and Mechanics Editions, it was clear how seriously they took this partnership with Alpine and Pierre Gasly. Seeing the team together, it was obvious that those watches were more than just a simple branding and marketing exercise—there was a genuine spark and mutual respect. That same energy comes through here.

Still, I can't help but feel there could have been a happy medium between style and cost—something a little more attainable for the Gasly and Moser superfans. Either way, I'll be watching closely this weekend in Singapore to see it on his wrist—the perfect place to debut the collaboration.
