What We Know
Announced last week during Geneva Watch Days, Citizen has expanded its popular Tsuyosa collection with three new models launching this fall. Named after the Japanese word for "strength," the Tsuyosa line is the brand's colorful and value-driven offering in the integrated bracelet format that has been so popular for the past few years. These latest additions pack a Citizen automatic movement with 60 hours of power reserve and a trio of colorways offering black, green, or blue dials in either steel, two-tone, or rose gold-tone, respectively.
All three initial models have the same specs, with 40mm wide steel cases that are 11.7mm thick. These models have the crown tucked at four o'clock, 50 meters of water resistance, a sapphire crystal, and a display caseback offering a view of the movement. All three come fitted to a matched steel multilink bracelet with a butterfly-style clasp and a mix of polished and brushed finishing.
The dials feature a concentric engraved finish with applied luminous markers and a magnified date display at three o'clock. Ticking inside and representing the specific upgrade for this new trio, Citizen has fitted a cal. 8310 automatic movement that ticks at 3 Hz and has a power reserve of 60 hours (meaning it'll still be ticking if you spend your weekend wearing an Aqualand).
The new Tsuyosa 60 series will be available this fall, with pricing starting at $575 for the steel/black version and $625 for either of the versions with a gold-tone execution.
What We Think
Over the past few years, the Tsuyosa line has expanded to offer a wide range of versions, including a 37mm sizing, a small seconds version (also 40mm and with a 60-hour power reserve), and the standard automatic Tsuyosa, which is 40mm wide but utilizes a cal. 8210 with 42 hours of power reserve. With this new 60 series, you get an expanded power reserve, but without the small seconds display, offering a cleaner and more classically derived look that is closer to the original inspiration from Citizen's NH-299 series.
With an exceedingly conventional style and a price tag that feels downright reasonable for an automatic watch from a known manufacturer in 2025, this feels like a "check the box" addition to the growing Tsuyosa lineup. While the stated accuracy of -20 to +40 seconds a day may deter some of the seconds-trackers in the audience, the broad appeal, easy-wearing sizing, and handsome proportions will undoubtedly appeal to a wide range of value-focused enthusiasts.
