This year, we're revisiting some of our favorite stories about dads and dad-like figures for Father's Day. Heartwarming, funny, or thrilling, these posts highlight the personal and familial connections around watches and timekeeping and are worth a second read.
Every family has its quirks. In mine, it's buying and gifting two-tone Rolex Datejust watches (this might explain my staunch two-tone support). In one form or another, you can find a two-tone Datejust somewhere in my family. Is that weird on its own? No, of course not – it's an undeniably popular watch which reached its apex in the 1980s. The weird part, as far as my family's concerned, is the how of it all.
In the spirit of Father's Day, I want to share a story I wrote last year – a story of my father, his father, my brothers, and I. It's a tale … of two-tone Datejusts.
