This past weekend, there was some reporting that veteran watchmaker and all-around nice guy Peter Speake-Marin is leaving his eponymous watch brand. Speake-Marin (the brand) has been on an occasionally rocky trajectory offering everything from modified ETA-based pieces to some incredibly complex tourbillons. Now it'll continue to do so, just without its founder.

Peter Speake-Marin, who hasn't owned a piece of the company that bears his name for a few years now, is departing and thanks to a new short interview published at A Timely Perspective, we know his plans. He'll be launching a new digital watchmaking education program at TheNakedWatchmaker.com. Peter remains upbeat as ever and something tells us we'll be seeing his handiwork again very soon.
