Yesterday, while the team in New York was preparing to unveil our latest collaboration with Swatch, Ben, Eneuri, Stephen, and I had the privilege of celebrating the launch of HODINKEE Japan with our colleagues in Tokyo. The website went live on Monday, but this was our chance to show it off to the local watch community and to explain a little bit about what HODINKEE is and why we've come to Japan.
The day at the Trunk Hotel in Shibuya started with a small luncheon with industry executives, who kindly welcomed us to Tokyo. As the evening set in, we welcomed an incredible group of guests including local watch collectors, more members of the industry, a few independent watchmakers, and enthusiasts visiting from around the world, for a night of cocktails and conversation. In all, we met more than 200 people and had a blast – and, oh yeah, we saw some killer watches too.
It was fantastic meeting the outstanding watch community here in Tokyo and we look forward to joining you for more events in the future. Enjoy the photo report below and let us know in the comments if you happen to see yourself (or your watch).
